Retiring Reflect

This May in Berlin, we announced that Rocicorp is shifting development focus to Zero – a new sync engine that builds on what we’ve learned from Replicache and Reflect over the past four years.

As part of this change, we’re ending the development of Reflect and will shut down its servers November 1, 2024. We plan to open source Reflect later this summer, but this release will be an archive – we won't be maintaining or accepting patches for it. If you want to use Reflect in this way, you'll need to fork and maintain it yourself.

Reflect was an early beta product, so this change doesn’t affect many production users. Those whom it does affect, we’ve already been in contact with.

For anyone else who was kicking the tires or maybe considering Reflect for a future product – we sincerly apologize for this change. We recommend checking out Liveblocks as an alternative.

We will continue maintaining Replicache while we build out Zero. Once Zero is generally available, we’ll be encouraging Replicache users to migrate, and will provide tools and documentation to help with the transition.

Thank you to those of you who tried out Reflect and gave us early feedback – we hope that you'll check back in and try Zero when it's available.
